Panchayat Assets
Panchayat assets include land, buildings, roads, and other infrastructure that are owned by or vested in Local Self-Government Institutions, particularly Grama Panchayats.
As per the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act and the applicable financial rules, the major categories of Panchayat assets are as follows:
Major Panchayat Assets
1. Immovable Assets:
Land and buildings belonging to Panchayat offices, community halls, shopping complexes, libraries, public cremation/burial grounds, parks, playgrounds, markets, schools under the Panchayat, primary health centres, and other public facilities.
2. Public Roads:
All public roads and pathways maintained by the Panchayat, including bridges and culverts.
3. Water Resources:
Public wells, ponds, streams, water tanks, drinking water supply systems, and other water-related infrastructure.
4. Movable Assets:
Panchayat vehicles, computers, furniture, equipment, streetlights, and other movable properties owned or maintained by the Panchayat.
